Richard Wagner is Co-Founder and Director of NOI Capital Partners. Mr. Wagner has broad oversight responsibilities at NOI, including financial modeling, client relations, and legal affairs.
Previously, Mr. Wagner founded and was managing director of Suntrust Corp., a successful investor in the litigation-funding industry. That firm’s success was due in large part to Mr. Wagner’s ability to analyze and forecast risk/return.
Mr. Wagner gained valuable experience as a research analyst at Rainbow Fund, a private hedge fund that has achieved some of the highest 20-year investment returns on record. Rainbow Fund invests internationally, across many industries, in both developed and developing countries. Mr. Wagner credits its principals with teaching him the controlling economic and competitive dynamics of many kinds of businesses.
Mr. Wagner was also co-founder and managing director of Suntrust Capital, a privately funded venture-capital firm focused on real property and other alternative investments. In the mid-1990s, the firm was highly successful in the rebounding real estate market in Texas.
Mr. Wagner holds a juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School, graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University in New York, and finished a general course in economics at the London School of Economics. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
